It had been reblued, but other than it looking in brand new condition you would never be able to know.

I've got a 42 M12 myself, but its a riot gun and not a trench gun. Just remember to remove your finger from the trigger before you slam the pump forward unless you plan on shooting the next round! They have no disconnect! You can empty the tube mag VERY quickly!

Envious of you both! Would like to have a riot gun or trench gun- but do own 2 model 12 20g  one of which is my favorite quail gun. The lack of trigger disconnect has been entertaining at times….

The Model 12 trench gun I had long ago was all original, I just never realized what I had when I owned it. I got it when I was a teenager (traded a Spanish Mauser 7x57 and a JC Higgens 20 gauge SxS for it). Carried it in my truck everywhere I went, even killed a few deer with it when I was stationed at Camp Lejeune. Like I mentioned in your other thread I ended up trading it away and still to this day regret that trade. The gun I got in that trade was a brand new Ruger #1 in 7x57 which I still have.

She's a looker! You can be really proud of that one.
