Steve out of Utah. My old military friend contacted me and told me he had a M1 Carbine and a German Luger from his father’s collection that I might be interested in. I am not a collector, but I’ve always wanted both those firearms.  I will educate myself on the Luger at a latter date.  The amount of information and knowledge on this site about M1 C’s is impressive.  I’ve posted a couple of photos asking about certain stamps earlier.  I’m in the process of filling out a data sheet and photographing all the components.  So far, everything seems legit under my un-educated eye except the rear flip site.  It doesn’t have a stamp mark on it. Some articles state that some original flip sites are unmarked.  I will send photos later this evening when I downsize them to fit the requirements.  Thanks for the education!!!

Good call!!  I would not be a happy camper if it fell out.   The rifle is in great condition, it makes me wonder about its origins.

The only thing I know about IPs is what I’m learning on this site.

They are the most common and cheapest ones. Might as well just give it to me LOL

Jk, just the exact opposite of what I just said.

Too funny.  I always wanted one to take out shooting.  This is in too nice of condition for that.  I’m surprised at the ones being sold on Gunbroker. I will not tell you how much I paid for it, that will make you sad.
