FYI nylon was invented in 1938; the first nylon parachute in 1942 to replace silk.
Rayon in its infancy in 1894 with a long succession of improvements  over several decades into the 1950s.

Doesn't seem reasonable manufacturers in those days would use expensive synthetic cloths over cheap abundant cotton to make their pouches.

Some UK made ones. None of which are on the list above, although may be in WBII or III

Quoted from US Militaria Forum

* I'm unsure about this description being a pocket for carbine magazines rather than 1911 magazines.   Follow the link above for photos, measurements and discussion.

I believe there was a combination pouch that took either the carbine mag or the 1911 mag. It was longer but had stitching on both sides near the bottom that held the 1911 mag centered. I've seen a couple, but didn't pay much attention to them.

Riesch refers to them as Type IIIA or IIIB which are a variation of Type I (Stock) pouch. IIIA are marked BOYT or S.F. CO. Inc.    IIIB are BOYT with a large U.S.M.C.

Think that is listed in WBII or III, I had it on my list already. Still not often seen.

I haven't seen this in any of the lists, is it legit?

G.S. MFG. CO., Inc.
       1 9 4 3

It has a RAU FASTENER CO PROV. R.I. snap on the back, unnamed with a dot snap on the front. Thanks, Lou.

I did notice the other day 2 different stamps for CHARLOTTE TENT & AWNING CO. 1943.  One has the name on two lines and the other is the name on one line. I may have very easily missed it, but is there a master list available to compare collections against?

@sling00, Dan is working on a "master list". The list above that I posted is pretty much what is listed in WBIII. It does list the 2 different Charlotte Tent and Awning markings. Are you still on the hunt for a Lee pocket? I have been searching for one for you for going on two years.

W5USMC, after a year I did come across one and a couple of months later I added another with some scribbling on it. I really appreciate you keeping an eye out for one.

Here is a new one for you.
COGLIZER
TENT & AWNING CO.
1943
Picked this one up at a show today. Print is somewhat faded so the spelling could be a little off, but I think that is correct,

Nice, can you post a picture Smokpole? Definitely one of the more elusive mag pockets.

I can try, but it is pretty faint. BTW, BW III lists COGLIZER as being tan in color. This one is green, so apparently they made them in both colors.
