I got this pouch from a collector a few years back and he said that he had owned it for many years. I dont think the USMC markings are real, but the pouch looks used. Is this a known fake or something that you guys have encountered before?

I’ve never seen one like that. The USMC markings are definitely bogus. They did not mark their equipment in that manner. The back plates of the LTD fasteners look like cheap modern reproductions, very different from WWII style. I’d chalk that up to being another fantasy piece.

The fabric looks vintage, but the snaps look like the modern stuff.
Maybe replaced Snaps ?

I'm not that familiar with all the TSM pouches, but recall seeing most with single fold over covers with the ends V shaped.

I was looking at these Repro goods earlier to match up to compass cases/pouches I have.

Look at the back of these snaps compared to the pouch above.. Bottom picture:
