I guess you could say I've been a busy boy! I recently acquired a '43 1903A3, M1 Garand from the CMP, and this (my latest acquisition): a '43 Ithaca 1911A1. Carbines are still my first love, but I've decided to venture out a bit and explore some of the other firearms of WWII. I've also somehow gotten myself tangled up in collecting M1 helmets... somebody please help me!

Nice looking 1911. Has a great "been there done that" look to it. Going to guess you didn't receive it from the CMP 1911 program -- there have been some nice rack/field grades posted but nothing that looks as original as yours.

Thanks, Joel. You're correct-- this was actually purchased from a reputable dealer back east. It originally came with some Vietnam-era grips that had a rack number stenciled on the sides, but I opted to swap them out with some WWII-era Keyes for these photos. Yeah... I definitely think it's been around the block!
