I don’t pick up new carbines very frequently, but I’m constantly on the prowl for good parts. The past year has been pretty good for harder to find parts at affordable prices. All of these sights were found in the last year and 3 were actually found in the past two weeks for about $50 a piece. I do spend a lot of time on the hunt for them so I’m not just stumbling into these blindly. Now if prices for complete carbines would get out of the stratosphere I might be able to find homes for these.

Nice collection! I almost never see original carbine parts at local gun shows.

Here are three square-S sights. One is a darker finish and has different staking on the pin. It looks me like it was parkerized over the original finish. Am I recalling it correctly that Inland parkerized complete barreled receivers with sights and barrel band installed? Did Saginaw or Standard Products use that method as well?

Inland and Saginaw (not s'g') assembled receivers and re parked the units.   Rebuild depots often re parked barreled receivers too.

In the CCNL's it states that there is evidence that INLAND often finished receivers, barrels, barrel bands, front sights, and rear sights as an assembly.

CCNL361-8 explains use of other rear sights from other contractors around 4995xxx AND states that the finish on integrated sights appear NOT to have been finished along with the receiver unit unknown why.
My speculation is that integrated sights may have been installed after the Unit finish and that the overall refinish May have hindered "Targeteers" in sighting in carbines.
