Identification of Parts & Accessories

Describing a part is often simpler than looking it up for a description. But some parts require specifics to avoid confusion. The standard nomenclature (language) for describing each part can be found in the following manuals.

Be aware these manuals have two drawbacks. First, the authors sometimes varied from the standard nomenclature or omitted a few parts. Second, what is shown in the manual was current at the time of publication. Given the ongoing R&D to improve this equipment sometimes the part actually used was different than what the manual shows.

Most, but not all, of these manuals are available as reprints sold by Eric Nicolaus at http://www.nicolausassociates.com/M1_Carbine.htm. Reasonably priced, excellent quality, cannot be mistaken or sold as authentic, and given the value of the originals a much better choice for reference and reading.

I'm not aware of anyone else who has copies available.
