Awesome work Jack!
But, I went to click on my link for the inland 5.4, and it won’t open/takes me to a blank page. Am I dumb or is the link not working?

Inland made so many, maybe the file size is too big for your phone?

@Rebel92, check the download folder of your device. My Android also shows a blank page but the Inland file is actually already downloaded. All I had to do is click on the file name in the download folder. The file is not that big (760 kb).

UPDATE: I think if I had waited a little longer the Inland page would have appeared after the download was complete. Once downloaded the page now appears instantly.

My computer browser I get a pop up asking to open, dowload, and a third option? My
phone just downloads it and I get a tiny notification. If i miss the
notification I have to look in my download folder, which android does
not make easy. Some phones may need an app to see the files.

For a millennial I am not good with technology. It still don’t work. I have checked my downloads and even you tubed it. Guess I need to get my computer out. I had ran in this a while back looking at other carbines, helping me learn what “real ones” look like. Some worked, some didn’t, but I eventually just started copying and pasting the url into the search bar on google and following the link from there

They all work fine on my Laptop. THANK YOU Jack for all the awesome research and work you put into these Data Sheets. I just sent you a PM with a very late Rock Ola that you can add to that list if you like.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays All from Florida!

A lot has happened since the last Serial Number Spread Sheet update. Nearly 100 new serial numbers have been added affecting every prime contractor. These include:
Added 28 carbines from the KSC Recovered Carbines article http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/carbines-recovered-from-the-korean-war-battlefield_topic6625.html Added 40 carbines from the following Larry Ruth Collection Posts Larry Ruth Collection: The Collectibles! http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/larry-ruth-collection-the-collectibles_topic6579.html?SID=7568-b4e4a3f743e29ba896bd7734837963#55374 Larry Ruth Collection: War Baby GI Carbines http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/larry-ruth-collection-war-baby-gi-carbines_topic6547.html#55307 Sold: Carbines from the Larry Ruth Collection http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/sold-carbines-from-the-larry-ruth-collection_topic6550.html#55492 Note: As the Larry Ruth carbines are being sold the posts are being removed from the “For Sale” threads and added to the “Sold” thread. This may result in the links changing in the Spread Sheets over time but all the images will continue to be available on the Club Forum. Added 16 Winchester carbines from the “Perry Six” and “Box-of-Ten” articles in CCNL #371 Added S/N 7245907 (HammerGrunt’s Winchester carbine) Added S/N 6502490 (wpmcqjr’s Winchester carbine) |

As I prepare to update the Serial Number Spread Sheets, one step I take is to see if there are any "new" CMP Auctions to be added. It turns out that there has only been one since the last update, but this one is unique.
https://cmpauction.thecmp.org/detail.asp?id=8170&n=M1-Carbine-Winchester-Service-Grade-1027492 It turns out that this one was already in the Spread Sheet from a previous auction. It is not uncommon for there to be multiple Completed Auctions for the same serial number. I guess an auction transaction can be cancelled for some unknown reason and the item relisted. What is not common is that the carbine has been refinished since the first listing which is the case for this carbine. Take a look at the original listing here to see the difference. https://cmpauction.thecmp.org/detail.asp?id=2131&n=M1-Carbine-Winchester-1027492 It looks like all the original parts are the same but with a fresh Parkerized finish. I have never seen this before! I guess you can't always count on CMP Auction carbines to be un-altered. Has anyone noticed this before? |

Most Early and Winchester Parts??
I kinda wonder about that statement, especially if you start counting them. Are the "parts listing pages" (with references) following the pictures something new, or have they been doing that for awhile? I'd much rather have the original finish with the blued bolt. - Bob |

I have only seen the CMP data sheet pages on new listings. At least it looks like they kept all the original parts together when they refinished this carbine.

I have a National Postal Meter serial # 4300925. That would put it late 43 or early 44. It has an undated IBM Corp barrel. Thanks

Good morning Mike.
Firstly, you should join this little community. There are many knowledgeable folks here that can answer any number of questions you might have. That would also allow you to post pics of your carbine(s), and who doesn't like pics? Secondly, the spread sheets show that s/n's probable 'made by' date would have been April '44. Hope that helps you. There's a link to the spread sheets back at the beginning of this thread. Best regards, Lou.

@jack The cmp sometimes receives donations of carbines from individual as a donation. It is possible someone bought it. Swapped parts and then donated

As mentioned in a previous post, when carbines from the Larry Ruth collection are sold, the post for the listing will be moved from the "For Sale" thread to the "Sold" thread. The Spread Sheets have been updated to reflect these link changes so that users will continue to have quick access to all the original posts.
Also, additional Larry Ruth Estate sale listings have been added to the Spread Sheets, noted below. Inland Added S/N 289 Added S/N XG67 Underwood Added S/N 4025211 Added S/N E-158 Added S/N 2490363 Standard Products Added S/N 2203018 IP/Saginaw GR Added S/N 1822853 National Postal Meter Added S/N 4308995 Other additions include: S/N 14880xx (Bkell3563’s NPM) S/N’s 1470868 and 1507630 (jangle’s NPM’s) |
