I'm looking to build a "gun" to leave in the rifle holder of my 43 GPW Jeep.  I need a B/R, handguard, trigger guard, barrel band, and hardware to hold it together.  Rejects from other projects preferred as this will NEVER be a restoration or even a shooter.  It's just for looks for parades/static displays.

Thanks,
Jay

I believe I’ve got a potbelly stock, hand guard, and barrel band laying around.

Have you considered a MGC (Model Gun Corp) M1 carbine. As I understand it it is the most used in jeeps for display.
I know where one is for sale. If you want the jeep they will throw in the carbine!

If you have WB3 page 1606 has information on them

Those are quite a bit cheaper that I thought they would be.

I built a non-firing "wall hanger" up from junk parts so I could display something authentic looking with other WW2 memorabilia without having to worry about it. Turned out good, for the B/R I used a junk Iver Johnson receiver along with a bulged barrel from a CMP El Salvador return. A damaged receiver from an OOB firing or improper removal would be great for you if you can find it. There were a few commercial receiver blanks floating around for a while that I considered but would be a little more work to get together and have an action that cycles.

That was what I had in mind.  Something that looks correct from 5 ft.
